Going

God's Way

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate
and broad is the way that leads to destruction,
and there are many who go in by it.  Narrow is
the gate and difficult is the way which leads to
life, and there are few who find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

His Plan For Me

When I stand at the judgment seat of Christ

And He shows me His plan for me,

The plan of my life as it might have been

Had He had His way.

And I see how I blocked Him here,

And I checked Him there,

And I would not yield my will.

There will be grief in my Savior's eyes -

Grief, through He loves me still.

He would have richly blessed me,

And I stand there void of any blessings from above.

Stripped of all but His grace,

While memory runs like a hunted thing

Down the paths I cannot retrace.

Then my desolate heart will well-nigh break

With the tears that I cannot shed;

I shall cover my face with my empty hands,

I shall bow my uncrowned head.

Lord, of the years that are left me,

I give them to Thy hand:

Take me and break me ...

Mould me to the pattern Thou hast planned.

- Treasury of Quotable Poems -

"I know the plans I have for you,
says the Lord.  They are plans for
good and not for disaster, to give
you a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11

Before He formed a star,

Our God arranged our lot;

Our little lives were planned afar,

When we as yet were not.

- author unknown -

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body

and knit them together in my mother's womb.

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!

Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,

as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

You saw me before I was born.

Everyday of my life was recorded in your book.

Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Psalm 139:13-17

Have Thine own way, Lord!

Have Thine own way

Thou art the potter;

I am the clay.

Mould me and make me

After Thy will,

While I am waiting,

Yielded and still.

~

Hold o'er my being

Absolute sway!

Fill with Thy Spirit

Till all shall see

Christ only, always,

Living in me!

- Adelaide A. Pollard & George C. Stebbins -

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and
He shall direct your paths."  Proverbs 3:5-6

"I will guide you along the best pathway
for your life.  I will advise you and watch
over you."  Psalm 32:8
