about trustingintheword.net
We are believers who trust in
God's eternal love and the everlasting promises
of His Word.
And we want
to share His love and the promises of His word
with others.
We
believe ... in the Omnipotent
God of Psalm 24:1-2 who created heaven
and earth and all
its fullness and those who dwell
therein.
We
believe ... in the faithful
promise that God made in Genesis 1:26, "Let US
create man in
Our image and
after Our likeness," and that He wants to fulfill
this promise in our
lives if we
will only allow Him to do so. He will never force
Himself or His thoughts and ways on
anyone. The choice is up to each one of
us as to whether we allow Him to
fulfill this promise or not. That is
the divine
benefit of the
free-will He gave to us when
He created us. He wants us to receive
His love and
the promises of His
Word because we freely choose to receive them
and not out
of any kind of fear or
intimidation.
We
believe ... that the
"Us" spoken of in Genesis 1:26 is God the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit
revealing their unique oneness in all things. God is three
distinct
Persons and yet indivisible
in thoughts and ways, therefore they are
"One" indivisible God.
We
believe ... that God the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit's eternal love and
everlasting promises made a way for all mankind to
be redeemed from the wages
of sin which is "death - eternal separation from
God." The Son of God out of
His eternal love for mankind came to
earth
from heaven to pay the
wages we
owed for our sinful thoughts and ways so we wouldn't have
to.
Redemption
from the wages of sin is a free gift given to us by God when we
sincerely
repent
of our sinfulness. "For God did not send His Son into the
world to condemn the
world, but that the world through Him might be
saved." John 3:17
We
believe ... that - sin - is
choosing to think and act in ways that are not in
agreement with God's thoughts
and ways which are defined in His Word for all
to know about. He says in
Isaiah 55:8 - "My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My
ways." When
we don't align our thoughts and ways
with the thoughts
and ways of God which are defined
in His Word we are on the
pathway that leads to being sinful.
We
believe ... that - repentance
- means to come to that place in your life when
you no
longer want your thoughts and ways to be in disagreement with God's
thoughts and
ways and you
tell Him so with a sincere heart. Then you completely
surrender yourself and your
life to Him
so He can transform your thoughts and
ways to be in agreement with
His thoughts and ways.
He promises through the
Apostle Paul in
Philippians 1:6 that the good work He begins in us
He will
complete. And
in Psalm 138:8 He promises through the psalmist that He will
perfect
that which
concerns us. So as we stay faithfully submitted to Him - He
will
faithfully fulfill
the promises of His Word.
We
believe ... that God the Son
arose from the grave that the sin of mankind put
Him in and returned to heaven to await that
appointed time when He would come
and take all who truly repented of their
sinfulness, and completely surrendered
themselves and their lives to being
transformed into God's image and likeness to
heaven to live with God the Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit forever. There we will
be our own unique and distinct persons and yet "one" in thoughts
(image) and
ways (likeness) of our Loving God, just as He said in Genesis 1:26
that
He wanted
us to be.
From the beginning - God
wanted us to be in a loving and righteous relationship
with Him.
The
question is ... do we want to be in a loving and righteous relationship
with
Him? If we
do - we need to tell Him so! He has been waiting on us to
want
this kind of relationship
before He would enter into our lives. He is
love - and love
never demands its own way. So
we must choose to love Him
of our own free-will
for He will never force Himself, or His love,
or the
promises of His Word on anyone.
"Have mercy upon us, O
God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to
the multitude
of Your tender
mercies, blot out our transgressions. Wash us
thoroughly from our iniquity,
and cleanse us from our sins." Psalm 51:1-2
